So I have to admit something: Whenever I feel a little homesick, I YouTube videos that remind me of being home and around my family. Anything from Vietnamese music videos to cooking to poorly-dubbed soap opera shows. The result was finding this video of an 8 year-old girl singing cai luong - a traditional Vietnamese music genre. I would imagine this girl being about the same age as me today.

Thrifty Dishes!

I went thrifting to find some dishes for my apartment for when I move to minneapolis. I was so happy to find what I have found for under 5 dollars total.

YAT'S on Mass Ave.

Gumbo, Jambalaya, Artichoke Etouffee and Chicken Maque Choux! And all at $5 a dish!!! I flipped the shit out when I was researching this restaurant online. I was so tired of eating Ramen Noodles at work, so I went and checked this place out and happy to say, did not leave dissapointed. The food was excellent. The environment was bold. The music they played was unidentifiably excellent - kinda sounded like a Dabrye with samples of Indian Sitars and 20s Upright Bass.

Anyway, my tummy is happy and so is my wallet!
